Water Heater Warranty Process

We've outlined the warranty processes for Takagi and Rheem water heaters below. Please follow the specific instructions for your unit to ensure a smooth warranty claim experience.

Takagi Warranty Process (15-Year Heat Exchanger, 5-Year Parts, 1-Year Labor)

For all Takagi warranty claims, please call 888-882-5244.

Steps to File a Claim:

  1. Troubleshooting: Begin by troubleshooting the issue to confirm the problem. Once the issue has been verified and confirmed, kindly proceed to complete the warranty form.

  2. Warranty Form: Complete the Takagi warranty form, ensuring you fill out the "CONTRACTOR INFO" and "Leaking Tank Info" sections.

  3. Attach Rating Label: Attach the rating label from the water heater. Important: The 13-digit serial number is required! Affix the label to the designated grey area on the form.

  4. Make a Copy: Make a copy of the completed form and label for your records.

  5. Mail the Form: Mail the form and attached label to the following address (Do NOT mail to AO Smith):

Lake County Pipe 10795 72nd Ave Suite 200 Pleasant Prairie, WI 53158

  6. Mailing Recommendation: We strongly recommend using Priority or Express mail for tracking purposes.

  7. Shipping Costs: Please note that Takagi does not cover shipping costs for the replacement unit. You will be contacted regarding payment for shipping at a later date.

Upon Receiving Form:

Once Lake County Pipe receives your form and label, the replacement unit will be shipped to you.

Rheem Warranty Process (15-Year Heat Exchanger, 5-Year Parts, 1-Year Labor)

For all Rheem warranty claims, please call 800-432-8373.

Steps to File a Claim:

  1. Troubleshooting: Begin by troubleshooting the issue to confirm the problem.

  2. Remove the Silver Label: Carefully remove the silver label from the water heater. This label contains the model and serial number. Tip: Warming the label with a hair dryer can make removal easier.

  3. Take a Photo: Before removing the label, take a clear photo of it for your records.

  4. Important Note: We only require the label with the serial and model numbers – do NOT return the entire water heater.

  5. Submit the Claim: Send the silver label to:

Lake County Pipe Attn: Cindy 10795 72nd Ave Suite 200 Pleasant Prairie, WI 53158

Please include your name, shipping address, and phone number for the replacement unit.

  6. Make a Copy: Make a copy of all information for your records.

  7. Mailing Recommendation: We highly recommend sending the label via Priority or Express mail (not regular mail) for tracking and to prevent loss.

Upon Receiving the Label:

Rheem will process the warranty and ship the replacement unit directly to you. Replacements are typically shipped quickly.
